Reasons for Increase in Gas and Electricity Prices

The day by day increase in Gas and Electricity Prices is alarming situation. Due to growth in population and increase in industrialization there has been a tremendous increase in demand for energy across the globe. Currently we have limited resources for energy whereas our demand is much higher. One of the most widely-used sources of energy is gas energy. It is used both for household and commercial purposes. But due to increase in Gas and Electricity Prices this source of energy is also becoming unaffordable for consumers.

There are many reasons for increases in Gas and Electricity Prices. Supply and demand is the major factor behind this increment. We have limited reserves of gas whereas demand is much higher. The dramatic increase in oil prices is an important factor and that is one of the major factors of increase in gas prices. Crude oil is one of the sources of the gas production. But unfortunately crude oil prices have gone up much higher at international level. Extraction of gas through crude oil is a very complicated and expensive process. So in order to cover that cost regulatory bodies are left with no option but to increase the Gas and Electricity Prices.

If the trend of increases in Gas and Electricity Prices continues at the current pace the prices of the things that rely on transportation for their marketing and even production will go up, resulting in more burdens on the common man. Therefore people on low wages will not be able to buy those products and they will be forced to spend their life in more depression.

As mentioned above the price of gasoline is based on supply and demand. If the demand of the gas increases then the prices of gas will also increase in the same proportion. All of us will have to increase our efforts to decrease the demand for gasoline as much as possible, so that Gas and Electricity Prices can be lowered. Below is what we can do in order to reduce the demand for gasoline and hence contribute towards the reduction in price.

• Avoid using vehicles as much as possible. You should walk to your destination if convenient. It not only saves fuel but also keeps you healthy.

• The use of public transport should be encouraged. This way we will end up saving a lot of fuel consumed in individual cars.

• One must buy fuel efficient and smaller cars, as these cars consume less fuel. So at the end of the day they save a lot of fuel. Furthermore cars must be driven at fuel efficient speeds.

• Reduce the use of appliances that run on gas energy. It will save us gas thus will be helpful in reduction of Gas and Electricity Prices.

Apart from adopting the above-mentioned measures we also need to find some alternate sources of energy to serve our day to day life to avoid gas and electricity prices. We need to efficiently and effectively utilize them for better consumption so we can minimize the increase of gas and electricity prices.
